Try all types of recumbents!
For free!

Coming weekend June 23 and 24 2012, there is a chance to try many recumbents and learn more about recumbents. It is also possible to get acquainted with push scooters, rowing bikes, tandems and velomobiles.
The free mobility event Cycle Vision at FlevOnice combines various forms of human-powered energy in an extensive program of lectures, competitions, test tracks and presentations.
There is too many to mention, but we make a selection.

Exhibition/recumbent get to know day (ligfietsopstapdag)

First, the major manufacturers in Europe are on the test track. Almost every kind of bike there to try, from very fast to uneventful relaxing commuter or touring bikes.
The Netherlands has many major manufacturers. Obviously, the dealers are also at the track. As well as complete bicycles, there are also spare parts and tires to see. There are several ‘recumbent get to know’ days a year, take a look at ligfietsopstapdag.nl

Races

Obviously there are races from the NVHPV recumbent association, more than 150 riders from across Europe driving a complete program spread over several locations. On Friday evening at the RDW track, and in the weekend on a closed long road, and of course the beautiful winding, but also very technical, tracks from FlevOnice.

Competitors

Please register to compete in several races. For camping we do not require booking in advance.

Club meeting

In addition to an extensive race program and lectures, many recumbent riders will unite at Cycle Vision. This will ensure that visitors’ questions will be often answered enthusiastically. Club members are also involved as volunteers.

General Information

For the first time in 2011, the Cycle Vision organization committee organized the event at FlevOnice in Biddinghuizen.

The date is still, as yet, set on the last weekend of June.
The great advantage of FlevOnice is that the terrain is rent and used exclusively for us. Therefore, the date can be set much earlier in the year.

In terms of facilities, there is a great test track available, a spacious parking lot and a large hall in which is a restaurant, but also can be exhibition stands. There is also a large swimming pool and there is possibility for caravans and motor homes to overnight at the site.

There is on the news page a summary of links and other obligations from the event held in June 2011.

Other information

The starting point is that the event is made possible entirely by volunteers. The event is supported by Ligfietsvereniging (Recumbent Association) NVHPV.

New this year

This year we have the terrain and the large swimming pool exclusive to our self, so there are no more fishermen. There is a series of marked routes of around 60 to 75 km long by FlevOnice. On Friday the tour goes around the Veluwemeer (Veluwe lake), at Saturday on the Veluwe and Sunday in the polder.

This year we also have a large test track where manufacturers are with their bikes.
In addition to the pages on our event, there is made also proposals for combinations for your visit. For a weekend or for a day. A special tip is a combination of an old playground and pancake house Hans en Grietje (Hansel and Gretel), nearby and suitable for all ages.

Registration for camping this year is no longer required. Just like last year, the site is suitable for motor homes and caravans.
Also this year people can race on the RDW track (Test Centre Lelystad). On that track, many people can go fast. It is a special part of the competition program.

The scheme of meals and camping has also changed. It is no longer required to register in advance. On the spot notifying remains necessary.
Volunteers, who did made a reservation, have meals at a special rate, and sometimes even for free.
